Lillehammer

Lillehammer is one of the towns situated by Mjøsa, Norways greatest lake. It was here the Olympic Winter Games of 1994 took place – “the best games ever”. From Oslo to Lillehammer it is about 180 km, and you can travel by bus or train. The Sandvigske Collection contains old buildings and store-houses from around 1890 and can be seen on Maihaugen – one of the largest and most exciting outdoor museum in Northern Europe.

Summer; Winter;
Storgata in the center of Lillehammer is crowded with people in the summer time. This town has the charming atmosphere of a small village, but you can also enjoy the silence on Nordseter or Sjusjøen, only 30 minutes away. The town and the area surrounding it has a lot of activities, both indoor and outdoor. The Olympic Parks lies almost in the middle of the town, and you can use them all year around, no need to be an athlete. Lillehammer is, next to Oslo, Bergen and Stavanger, the city with the largest capacity to house congresses.

At Lillehammer we can almost guarantee that there will be snow in the winter. Not far from Lillehammer we find the Olympic Bobsleigh Track. This track is usually the first in the world to freeze come autumn. Clearly, it is a very popular place for the athletes to practise before the season starts. The track is open year around, so everyone can have a go, on ice or wheels – getting the adrenalin kick of your life!
