Lofoten
|
 |
Lofoten is an archipelago North of the Polar Circle, it reaches 200 km out in the ocean.
The change of weather is quick - from calm and clear weather to powerful storms and snow.
The strongest northern lights of the northern hemisphere can be seen over Lofoten from May 27 to July 15. |
Along the well known Lofot-wall, we'll find strong
maelstroms. The most famous is called Moskenes-straumen, probably the strongest in the world. With the speed of 6 knots it is known throughout the borders of Norway. For thousands of
years, sailors have feared this maelstrom, and many myths and legends have been told about it.
Lofoten is one of the most beautiful areas Norway has to show. The islands lies like pearls on a string, and the nature creates great contrasts for the eye to see. On the islands we find cosy bays and untouched nature. All in all, this creates an unforgettable and magical memory - something to save and think about when you feel stressed out. It is also relative easy to travel to Lofoten, SAS and Widerøe takes you
there. |
