Oslo

Oslo is one of the capitals in the world that can offer a great deal of nature and outdoor activities. Only 1/3 of the city's area is populated, the rest are mainly forrest areas, called "Marka". With just over 500.000 inhabitants, Oslo is a small capital, but when it comes to area, it is among the 10 largest. However, do not think that this is a boring smalltown. There are plenty of attractions, for example historical ones. This is Scandinavia's oldest capital, founded in 1050. 
Oslo has more hours of sun than any other Scandinvavian capital, and in the summer the temperature can rise to about 30 degrees Celsius.
 
Summer; Winter;
The most fabulous way to arrive Oslo is by boat. When sailing in to the city, you'll have a great scenery and a beautiful views, and the fjord has a fascinating atmosphere. From Oslo you can sail to the continent with one of the big ferryboats. The Vigeland Park is one of the major cultural institutions of Oslo. Here we find the impressive "Monolith" - believed to be the largest granite sculpture of the world. And last, but not least, Oslo has the cosmopolitan feeling, and the possibilities for shopping, eating and drinking is good.

The Norwegians are known for their passion for nature and skiing. In 1952 the Olympic Winter Games took place here, and almost everyone of the arrangements were within the city limits. From down town Oslo, you'll easily manage to reach Holmenkollen Ski Jump and Marka, where you can live out your passion for skiing. If you find ice-skating more tempting, there is possibilities to do so in the heart of Oslo, between the Nathional Theatre and the Parliament.
